Theatre of Wine in collaboration with Good Shepherd Studios are putting on a special screening of documentary film Blind Ambition, about the inspiring tale of Zimbabwe's first ever sommelier team competing in the 2017 World Blind Wine Tasting Championship.
After the film will be an introduction to blind tasting in the Back to Ours cafe of Good Shepherds Studio using several high quality wines to give a flavour of what you will see on screen. Absolutely no performance assessment here, so either have a go yourself or let us guide you through how the process works as you sip!
Tasting wines blind is a fun and useful tool that can help one avoid preconceived ideas about how a wine will, or should, taste, and provide honest reflections of quality, value, and enjoyment. Guessing a wine correctly is a great party trick, but the real value is in trusting your instincts and enjoying each bottle on its own merits. After the tasting, we will have wine available by the glass until late for extra practice after class.
